spike® ADVANCED
Machine and sensor data are automatically documented and available throughout the network, while the highly sensitive force measurement of spike2 makes invisible processes visible. This creates a solution that seamlessly combines digitization and detailed process analysis – for maximum transparency, comparability and efficiency.
Components
The System
The spike®2 tool holder measures process forces such as bending moments, torsion and axial forces in real time and sends the data wirelessly to the receiving unit integrated in the machine. From there, they go directly to the fusion software for immediate visualization and analysis.
In parallel, the pm CONNECTOR delivers machine data such as spindle current as well as axis and tool information to fusion EDGE, where it is combined with the force data. Measurements can be started and stopped automatically via the NC code.
All data is then centrally bundled and synchronized in fusion SERVER and made available to all users in the network.
This allows tool breakage, wear, instabilities and inefficient cutting parameters to be quickly identified and specifically optimized – including comparative and trend analyses for well-founded decisions.

Who benefits from spike® ADVANCED?
Everything you need for professional process diagnostics
- spike®2 Sensor:
The most sensitive sensor in its class, detects even the smallest force changes and delivers high-resolution measurement data directly from the process. - read Flex:
A compact mobile receiving unit that receives the force data transmitted wirelessly from the spike®2 tool holder and makes it available for further processing in fusion. - pm Connector:
Records important machine signals, such as spindle current, axis and tool data, as well as NC code. - fusion EDGE:
Resource-saving software for visualizing data in real time. - fusion SERVER:
Central database and analysis platform with extensive evaluation and analysis tools, accessible from anywhere via the company network.
This creates a seamless interaction of sensor data, machine signals and intelligent software.
For optimal data analysis, data management and process optimization.
