pro-micron annual review 2024 and outlook for 2025

Overview

2024 will be remembered as an economically turbulent and historically significant year. For pro-micron, it was one of the most important years since the company's founding. With the acquisition by Sandvik and upgrades to our software product "fusion," the year started off very purposefully.

During the year, we also reached an important milestone in the hardware sector: the delivery of the 700th individually specified spike® holder variant.

Thanks to personnel reinforcement in our Tech Center, we were able to significantly expand our capacities for live demonstrations and customer visits. In addition, pro-micron was present at numerous important events and trade fairs.
At the end of the year, we received a special visit from high-ranking representatives of Sandvik Coromant.

Acquisition by Sandvik

In February, the acquisition of pro-micron GmbH by Sandvik, announced in December 2023, was successfully completed. Since then, both companies have been working intensively on integration as well as the joint development and optimization of our product range.

fusion Software Upgrades in February and November

The first of two planned software upgrades was successfully rolled out in February. This upgrade included significant improvements in user-friendliness as well as a new analysis area that provides deeper insights into the recorded process and force data.

As part of another upgrade, customer feedback was addressed and additional features were added to the analysis area.

Over 700 Differently Specified Holder Variants

Since spike® can be customized to fit tool holders of various manufacturers and sizes, the 700th spike® with individual specifications left our facility this year.
This number underscores the versatility and adaptability of spike® as well as the high competence of our team.

Optimizations and Capacity Expansions in Our Tech Center

In the middle of the year, we strengthened our Tech Center personnel and made extensive optical and capacity changes to offer visitors an even more impressive experience.
Particularly noteworthy is our new 140-inch video wall.

Trade Fairs and Events

At the beginning of 2024, our spike®Inspindle was presented at the Open House Event by DMG MORI in Pfronten. In April, we were present at the GROB in-house exhibition in Mindelheim to showcase the new analysis feature within fusion.
As part of the new collaboration and ownership situation, we participated in the Sandvik TechDays in Renningen in April, with a booth, a machine with spike® live demonstration, and a presentation slot.
In September, we concluded the trade fair year with participation in the AMB 2024 in Stuttgart, the leading trade fair in the industry.

Visit from Sandvik Coromant CEO Helen Blomqvist

In November, we were visited by Sandvik Coromant CEO Helen Blomqvist, along with Sanela Lundqvist (Vice President HR) and Rüdiger Mannherz (CFO) in Kaufbeuren. After a company tour, there was a live demonstration in our Tech Center, followed by a Q&A session between Sandvik and pro-micron, where the joint future was discussed.
